Links and Resources

As the owners of Feeding and Swallowing Specialists of The Woodlands and Therapy Specialists of The Woodlands, Dana and Anais are strong proponents of evidence-based interventions and strive to educate the community when pursing therapy services. We believe that clinicians and clients should have access to high quality information about therapeutic strategies and interventions.

As a proponent of evidence-based practice and a consumer of scholarly information through books and journal articles, I believe everyone should have access to information about the most up to date and effective treatments for infants, children, and adults living with dysphagia.

In the downloads section, I have included articles and resources that I find helpful when training other clinicians, educating clients and caregivers, and guiding my clinical decision making process.

In the downloads section I have included  a few of my favorite studies with a variety of topics, including, feeding, social skills, infant massage, and sensory processing.

I am particularly excited about the research coming out about the importance of using a strength-based approach with children and adults with Autism.

“There is a need to move away from deficit-focused interventions and build interventions that organically develop and enhance autistic individuals’ self-advocacy by building opportunities within interventions where they can practice these skills and gain competence and mastery.” - (Patten et al,  2023)
